WHEN YOU FEEL DOWN AND OUT

Pastor Maselo Mosomane

“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease. Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground, Yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant.” Job 14:7-9
What do you do when you feel down and out? When you feel like you are losing the battle of righteousness and the devil has just started with the count down? You try your best but your best seems not to be good enough. You try to explain but no one seems to be listening. You try everything but it’s like you are a load one brick short. What do you do in times like these?
It is in times like this that the devil will come up fuming like a wounded lion; releasing all his demons upon you. Have you realized how sometimes in our lives we become so dull and it looks like we’ve lost it all? You try to pump yourself up with prayer like you used to do and you feel like the devil is saying “one more time my man; you haven’t prayed enough yet”
Well, beloved; there may be many things you could do and many ways you could follow but I am impressed in my spirit to suggest only one thing. I suggest only one thing to do and I believe the whole situation will be reorganized. Are you ready for the doze? Here we go! Go straight into the Word and relax as though nothing is happening. RELAX IN THE WORD. It’s no time to prepare a meal for others; it’s time to feed on the Word, yourself. It’s no time to study and figure out how certain things work. What must you do? Relax and feed on the Word. Don’t prepare a message; you are too hungry to feed others; just feed yourself on the word.
The Word will silence your busy mind, rearrange your priorities and make you taste peace after a long time. Just allow the water of the Word to water your dry heart and things will begin to happen. The Word of God will do far more than what your adrenaline can do to prepare you for the coming eventuality, for the Word of GOD “…is the power of God” 1Corinthians 1:18. “For the word of God is living and powerful” Hebrews 4:12. The problem is when we try to do what only the Word of God can. JUST RELAX AND FEED and don’t try to tell the food what to do inside your body. What must you do? RELAX AND FEED.
“For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease. Though its root may grow old in the earth, And its stump may die in the ground, Yet at the scent of water it will bud and bring forth branches like a plant.” Job 14:7-9
Job; in one day lost everything and was frustrated. He did not know what he was saying; yet the Spirit of the Lord ascended his life and took over his vocal cords and prophesied. The Spirit was saying through Job and is still saying through His servants to hopeless people; “For there is hope for a tree”
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5. Is there any disappointment bigger than God? Is there any frustration big enough to frustrate God? Is there any size of debt God can't pay? My friend, there is hope for you; it does not matter what condition you find yourself in. Take time to call your sense together – God is bigger than your problems. There is no mountain higher than God; there is no ocean deep enough for God to rescue you. You are more important to God than a tree. Like a tree; at the scent of water you will bud and bring forth branches.
There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God.” Psalms 46:4. In the midst of all your problems; there is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God. Let the river of the word flow into your mind and wash away all the disappointments. If you will; put aside what you are going through and just get in the word and drink.
